PUBG MOBILE review
PUBG Mobile is a battle royale game for Android and iOS devices. It was released by Tencent Games and is a mobile edition of the PC and console game PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.
Gameplay: Exactly the Same
The greatest thing about PUBG Mobile is that the game does not have any significant differences from the original PUBG. It is almost the same experience as the console and PC players have, but it is carefully transferred to mobile and adjusted to touch controls. The game is free to play, and there are loads of fresh content coming every month. In its essence, PUBG Mobile is a typical battle royale game, where you have to fight against 100 other players on a vast island full of loot. It is a great third-person view shooter based on another great shooter from PC.
Graphics: Could Be Better
Graphics might be a slight issue for the players of PUBG Mobile. Of course, you wouldn’t expect such a technically difficult game as PUBG to be ported on mobile with the same visuals, but the graphics could still be better. Call of Duty Mobile also has a battle royale mode, and that one looks much better. The optimization is also imperfect, and to have averagely comfortable FPS rates and not overheat your device, you will most probably need to select the lowest graphics settings.
Controls: A Real Input Challenge
The controls in PUBG Mobile might also become a barrier on your way to having fun from the game. The problem is, the original PUBG was designed for PC and is a complex game with tons of mechanics. It was specifically developed for keyboard input, in which you can easily access many different buttons. The mobile edition does not change the mechanics as we mentioned, and this results in uncomfortable controls. There are too many buttons on the screen, the user interface is overloaded. You will have to spend a lot of time getting used to this interface, but the good thing is that it is customizable: you can change the layout of the buttons as you wish.
Conclusion: Good 4/5
PUBG Mobile is an interesting battle royale experience on mobile. It carefully transfers the mechanics of the original PUBG to Android and iOS devices and impresses with the map size and the scale of events. There are several drawbacks like graphics and controls, but the game is free to play, and we suggest at least trying it. There is a high chance you will enjoy playing such a big game on your phone.
